Allah (SWT) has given Himself Names and attributes so that we can know Him, worship Him and Love Him. What is most amazing and beautiful about Allah’s Names is that through them, we can see how our Creator recognizes the needs of His creation. He is Merciful and we are in need of mercy, He is the Forgiving and we are in need of forgiveness.
To know Allah, we must learn more about His names and attributes. By increasing our knowledge of Allah, we can appreciate His power over all things, and become sincere toward Him.
Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
“Whoever knows Allah will inevitably love him. ِAnd when one loves Allah, the clouds of darkness dissipate from him. Grief, anxiety, and sorrow are removed from the heart, and it is [then] filled with joy and happiness.”
