What is Noor Ul Islam?

 

Established in 1990, Noor Ul Islam is a Mosque and a Muslim faith-based independent nursery school, primary school and community hub located in Leyton, East London. It offers a range of services, including a primary school, pre-school, madrassa, Hifz and a five-year Aalimiyyah course for sisters. The centre also serves as a mosque providing daily prayers, lectures, and community activities for men, women and children.

Education & Services

 

What educational services does Noor Ul Islam offer?

 
  • Primary School: An independent Muslim faith-based school teaching the National Curriculum alongside Islamic studies.
  • Pre-School: An inclusive setting operating within an Islamic ethos, open to the whole community.
  • Madrassa & Hifdh: Provides Islamic education to develop children’s personalities, fostering consciousness of their responsibility to Allah and fellow humans.
  • Aalimiyyah Course: A comprehensive five-year full-time course for sisters, focusing on Islamic scholarship. 

 

Is the pre-school & Primary School Ofsted registered?

 

Yes, both are registered and has been rated Good and Outstanding by Ofsted.

 

Are there any fees associated with the educational services?

 

Yes, Noor Ul Islam Primary School is a private educational establishment where fees are required to maintain a high standard of education, attract and retain qualified staff, and cover operational expenses.

Both the Madrassa and Aalimiyyah courses also charge a fee.

 

Mosque & Community Services

 

What services does the mosque provide?

The mosque offers:

  • Daily Prayers: Conducted five times a day by Imams.
  • Jummah (Friday Prayers): Two prayer arrangements to accommodate the large Muslim population.
  • Islamic Advice: Two Imams are available at different times to provide guidance.
  • Community Activities: Regular classes, youth activities, and lectures with scholars and special speakers.
  • Open Mosque Day: a guided tour to non-Muslims in order that they can have a better understanding Islam.
  • Young People: Noor Ul Islam encourages both young and older people to use its facilities and take part in voluntary work. It provides, encourages and delivers positive and constructive engagement to bring about change in society. We have young people who have retained a close link with Noor Ul Islam have developed into good members of the local and wider community.

 

Is the mosque currently open?

 

Yes, the mosque is open daily for prayers. However, due to ongoing rebuilding efforts, facilities are currently limited.

Project Rebuild

 

What is ‘Project Rebuild’?

 

‘Project Rebuild’ is an initiative by Noor Ul Islam to construct a new complex that will house a number of new services, expanding their current offerings to better serve the Muslim and wider community.
